Qualman, GeorgeGeorge H. Qualman, age 86, a Manitowoc resident, entered eternal life Wednesday afternoon, October 7, 2015 at Kindred Hearts Assisted Living in Manitowoc.George was born on April 25, 1929 in Manitowoc. He was the son of the late Henry and Alma Bathke Qualman. George attended Lincoln High School and graduated with the class of 1947. On January 30, 1950 he married Jeanette Reilly at Bethany Ev. Lutheran Church in Manitowoc. She preceded him in death on December 17, 1998. George started his employment in Manitowoc working in the meat department at Rosinsky's Meat Market, then at Breys Food Market and retired from ABC Super Market as a meat cutter. George enjoyed bowling, camping, and attending art classes at the Manitowoc Senior Center. He also was a co-director and bus driver for the Clipper City Ship Mates Drill and Bugle Corps.He is survived by his six children: Ken Qualman, Manitowoc; Jerry (Debbie) Qualman, Onalaska; Lee (Lynn) Qualman, Manitowoc; Dave (Thelma) Qualman, Nebraska; Allen (Sarah) Qualman, Manitowoc; Barbara Qualman, Oklahoma; fifteen grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, nieces nephews along with other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents: Henry and Alma Qualman; wife: Jeanette Qualman; two brothers: Sylvester and Marvin Qualman; two sisters: Violet Luebke and Evelyn Madson.Memorial services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, October 17, 2015 at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home. Officiating will be Chaplin Pat Hennen. Cremation has taken place at the Harrigan Parkside Crematory and Chapel with the burial of his cremated remains to be on Monday, October 19, 2015 at Knollwood Cemetery, Manitowoc. Relatives and friends may call at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home on Saturday, October 17, 2015 from 10 a.m. until the time of the memorial service at 11 a.m. Following the services a luncheon will be held for family and friends at the Harrigan Parkside Gathering Center located on the south property of the funeral home.Online condolences to the family may be sent to www.harriganparksidefuneralhome.comThe family would like to thank George's special friend, Phyllis Linden and her family, for all their years of friendship.
