George Lewis Gillespie, Jr.Knoxville, TNGeorge Lewis Gillespie, Jr., 82, of Knoxville, passed away with his family by his side on June 22, 2017. He was born on February 9, 1935 to George and Dana Gillespie, Sr. in Norwalk, Ohio. George worked for Goodwin Construction Company, loved woodworking and cars, but his greatest love in life was for his family. He was preceded in death by his parents and by two brothers, Fred and Alvin Gillespie. George leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 60 years, Shirley; daughter, Terry Donaldson and her husband, Steve; grandson, Chris Donaldson and his wife, Katelynn; brother, Gary; special niece, Jennefier; special friend, Marvin Crawford, and many other extended family and friends who will miss him dearly. A Funeral Service will be held for George at 6 pm Sunday, June 25, in the chapel of Berry Highland West Funeral Home, 9913 Sherrill Blvd. Knoxville, TN 37932. The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 pm prior to the service. A Graveside Service will be held on Monday, June 26, at 11 am at Berry Highland West where Military Honors will be presented.
