George J. SimbeckEAST PEORIA - George Joseph Simbeck, 91, of East Peoria passed away at 8:55 a.m. on Saturday, October 29, 2016, at his residence. He was born on February 22, 1925, in Loretto, TN, to Paul H. and Agnes I. (Hill) Simbeck. He married Joyce A. Fox in Peoria on June 13, 1953. She preceded him in death on March 17, 2006. Also preceding him in death were his parents, two brothers and three sisters.He is survived by four brothers, Lawrence Simbeck and Julius Simbeck, both of Loretto, TN, Cletus (Anna) Simbeck of Kansas City, MO, and Dennis (Dorothy) Simbeck of Hohenwald, TN; one sister, Rosemary (Ralph) Miller of Devil's Head, ND; and several nieces and nephews.He had been a laborer and a machine operator at Caterpillar Tractor Company. He retired in 1982 after 35 years of service and enjoyed a 35 year retirement. He was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church of Peoria and was a member of the Peoria Area Dartball League for 52 years.Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, November 4, 2016, at St. Paul Lutheran Church at 1427 W. Lake Ave, Peoria, IL. Pastor William Dohle will officiate. A visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church. Burial will be in Swan Lake Cemetery in Peoria.
