RACINE - Georg J. Becke, age 89, passed away at his home, on August 11, 2015. Georg was born on May 14, 1926 in Prokendorf, Germany. He was the son of the late Johann and Maria (Pohl) Becke. Georg came to Racine in 1952 to get established before returning to Germany to marry his wife of 62 years, Christine Klammert. They united in Holy Matrimony on December 30, 1953 and returned to Racine to get settled and raise their family. Georg was employed at Michael’s Machine Co. for twenty- seven years until his retirement in 1988. He was a long time member of St. Rita’s Catholic Church, and D.A.N.K. In his spare time, he enjoyed woodworking, gardening and helping his family, friends, and neighbors “fix” things. His favorite activity, however, was his role as “Grandpa”. Georg will be dearly missed by his loving wife, Christine; his children: George (Julie) Becke, Thomas (Sue) Becke, Veronica (Paul) Moser, Christina (Bill) Crenshaw, Michael (Chrissie) Becke, Marian (Randy) Fritz; his 13 grandchildren: Rheannin, Laura, and Valerie Becke, Jessica Becke, Nickolas (Christie) Moser, Emily Moser, Melissa Crenshaw (Tristan White), Matt (Gina) Crenshaw, Amanda Crenshaw, Justin and Andy Becke, Colby and Kyle Fritz; his 7 great-grandchildren: Sean, Adriana, Tarin, and Maya White, Landon and Logan Crenshaw, Noah Bouwma; his sisters: Maria Becke, Bridget (Walter) Sievers, (both of Germany); nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, Georg was preceded in death by his sisters: Marguarite (Rudolph) Wistuba and Elizabeth (Adolph) Hertl. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Rita’s Catholic Church, 4339 Douglas Avenue, on Saturday, August 15, 2015, at 10:30 A.M., with the Reverand Rich Young officiating. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Hwy. 32. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the church on Saturday from 9:30 A.M. until the time of the Mass.
