We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Genice Thompson, who left us on April 17, 2025, in Columbus, Ohio at the age of 73.
Genice was born on November 3, 1951, to her loving parents Ewing Smiley and Naja Jacques. She leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter, cherished by her husband of 35 years, Everett Thompson.
Son, Barry (Jen) Williams, grandkids, Quinton (Alexus), Cecelia, Madison Estelle, and Ezekiel.

Genice graduated from Danville High School in 1969 and went on to have a successful career working for the U.S. Government at McChord Air Force Base Tacoma, WA, McClennan Air Force Base, Sacramento, CA, and the (DSSC), Department of Defense Supply Chain, located in Columbus, OH.
Genice enjoyed traveling whether by car or plane. Her voicemail says, “ I’m on the move.” She visited Hawaii twice and Genice and her husband, T, drove from California to New Jersey in 47 hours; twice. She had a love for Jazz and the music of October London, as well as watching cooking shows and house fixer-uppers. Genice was always checking in on her family and friends, making sure everyone was doing well.
Genice was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, three sisters, her son JB, and her daughter, Tamara Williams.
Genice Estelle Thompson poured love into her family and friends. She made a way out of no way to support her kids, family, and friends, and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Whenever you see the color blue, think of Genice and smile.
