June 13, 1933 - Nov. 3, 2016 Gene Nigh (aka L.A. Gene), died on Nov. 3, in Vallejo, after a brief illness. He was born on June 13, 1933 in Gwynneville, IN, and was the son of the late Clarence Boyd and Earnestine Nigh. Gene was a graduate of Morristown High School in 1951 and was affectionately known by his best friends as "Frog." Gene served four years in the Air Force during the Korean campaign. He was a respected member of Alcoholics Anonymous. In the 1980's he married Mary Pat Martin (deceased). Gene is survived by step-son, Wendell Martin of San Jose, and step-son, Christopher Martin of Denver, CO; step-daughter, Wendy Martin of Monterey, CA; niece, Ann (Smith) Seefeldt of Indianapolis, IN; nephew, Philip Smith of Shelbyville, IN, and two great nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister, Marjorie Ann (Nigh) Smith and his brother, Doyle Nigh of Whittier, CA. In lieu of services, Gene requested friends and family make a donation to their favorite charity in his memory.
