Werth, Gary L. "Old Bird"Gary L. Werth, age 72, of New London, passed away on Tuesday, December 13th, 2016 at Theda Clark Hospital, surrounded by his loving family and friends. Gary was born on March 27th, 1944 in Iola to the late Walter and Murial (Peterson) Werth. Gary was a retired truck driver of many years with Jerry Ort Trucking, and Nile Waters Trucking. On January 8th 1972, he married Vicki Schultz and enjoyed 44 years of marriage together.Gary was a tinkerer of all sorts, he enjoyed working on small engines and gardening. He was a man always on the go whether it meant working in his garden, making wood or working on some sort of project. He most enjoyed spending time with his family and entertaining his "barn buddies." On hot days it was a real treat to enjoy an ice cold PBR.He is survived by his wife Vicki, his daughters; Leah (fiance Stoney Merryfield) Flatoff, Sara (Jason) Preuss, Grandchildren; Kristen (Brandon), Stephen, Brianna, Marissa, McKenzy, Cheyenne, Austyn, Ashton, great grandson; Dayton, siblings; Cheryl, Ronald, Deborah, numerous "barn buddies and special girls", and his lil fur buddy; Clyde.Gary is proceeded in death by his his son; Carl, his parents, brother; Dennis and sister; Kaylene.A celebration of life service for Gary will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 17th, 2016 at St. John's Apiscopal Church, 1513 Pine Wood Drive, New London by Pastor Eric Tober of Faith Community Church. Visitation will be held at the Church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
