We are gathered here today to bid farewell to Garfield Blackburn, who danced his way into this world on June 11, 1959, only to waltz out on November 2, 2025, leaving his loved ones in stitches in West Memphis, Arkansas.
Garfield, known to his friends as "G-man," was the offspring of the ever-entertaining Jim and Samantha Blackburn. He leaves behind his pride and joy, daughter LaRosha Hamilton, along with her spouse Clarence Hamilton. Let's not forget his two little troublemakers of grandchildren.
During his formative years at El Dorado High School, class of '77, Garfield was voted "Most Likely to Make You Laugh Until You Cry." This prediction proved to be accurate as he pursued a career as a construction worker. Whether he was building homes or demolishing dad jokes, Garfield always had a knack for putting a smile on people's faces.
When he wasn't on the job site, Garfield could be found pursuing his passion for fishing. His love for reeling in the biggest catch of the day was only surpassed by his ability to hook his audience with hilarious anecdotes.
Though he may have "bit the dust," Garfield's memory will live on in the hearts and minds of all who were fortunate enough to know him. As he embarks on his final fishing trip to the great beyond, we bid him farewell with a fond farewell: Gone fishin', G-man. Until we meet again.
