A Life Full of Discovery

Galileo Galilei, 77, passed on January 08, 1642. He was born to Vincenzo Galilei and Guilia di Cosimo Ammannati in Pisa, Tuscany on February 15, 1564. He was in a relationship with Marina Gamba and they lived together in Arcetri, Tuscany. Together they raised 3 children Maria Celeste, Livia Galilei, and Vincenzo Gamba.

Galileo was known as the "Father of Modern Astrology". He was an Astronomer, Mathematician, Physicist, Philosopher, and Professor. He will be remembered for his work in analytical dynamics, kinematics, heliocentrism, and observational astronomy. He made fundamental contributions to the sciences of motion, astronomy, and strength of materials and to the development of his scientific method. He marked the beginning of a fundamental change in the study of motion with his formulation of circular inertia, the law of falling bodies, and parabolic trajectories. His discoveries with the telescope revolutionized astronomy by discovering the secret of the invention in the Netherlands and made his own three-powered spy-glass from lenses for sale in a spectacle maker's shop. He paved the road for the Copernican Heliocentric System. He also made the discovery of sunspots to which others argued they were satellites of the sun.

He will be remembered for his discoveries that created a whole new world.
