Harlingen, TX - Gabriel Miranda, Jr., 13, passed away on Monday, November 14, 2016, in Edinburg, Texas. He was born on December 28, 2002 in Richmond, Texas to Gabriel Sr. and Maria Miranda. Gabriel was a lifetime resident of Harlingen and attended Travis Elementary and was currently enrolled at Vernon Middle School. He was an intelligent young man who enjoyed playing and listening to music. Gabriel played the Barry Saxophone and was 1st Chair with the Jazz Band, Symphonic Band, and had also made All City Band. He was a member of Vernon Proud and was in the TexPREP (Pre-Freshman Engineering Program). Gabriel was very knowledgeable in military history and enjoyed having discussions about the United States Armed Forces, and past wars. He also enjoyed playing video games, YouTube, and anime. Gabriel will be dearly missed by all who knew him.He is survived by his loving family to cherish his beautiful memory: parents, Gabriel Sr. and Maria Miranda; sister, Alexandria De Leon; brothers, Reuben Antonio "Benny" De Leon III and Juan Daniel Miranda; paternal grandparents, Juan A. Miranda and Maria Victoria Miranda; maternal grandmother, Susan Martinez; maternal great grandmother, Gracia Martinez; paternal great grandmother, Josefa Arenas; paternal great grandmother, Victoria Sauceda; paternal aunts and uncles, Lisa Miranda, Juan Miranda Jr., Belinda Ruiz, Nelda Galvan, Andres Miranda, Chrizelda Miranda, Sara Nicole Miranda, and Jesus Miranda; maternal aunt and uncles, Barbara Carranza, Kathleen Estrada, Victoria Frazier, Salome Morales Jr., Gracie Leon, Angelina Ruiz, Arnold Alvarado, and Alexander Alvarado; and numerous cousins.Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 19, 2016 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Christian Fellowship Church, 901 S. Loop 499 in Harlingen.A funeral service of Christian burial will also be held on Saturday, November 19, 2016, at 2:00 p.m. at Christian Fellowship Church with Pastor Barry Jackson officiating. Interment will follow to Mont Meta Memorial Park Cemetery in San Benito, Texas.Honored to serve as pallbearers are Juan Miranda Jr., Andres Miranda, Jerome Estrada, Arnold Alvarado, Anthony Yzaguirre, Adam Cepeda Jr., Jesus Miranda, and Joe Frazier. Honorary pallbearers are Reuben Antonio De Leon III, Salome Morales, Jr., Louis Melendez Jr., Adam Cepeda Sr., Raul Barron, Frank Yzaguirre, Duane Gutierrez, Milton Ruiz Sr., Jose Villarreal Jr., and Emilio Estrada Jr.Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Trinity at Harrison Funeral Home 1002 E.
