Fredrick Baker, 83, of Hopkins Park, Illinois, United States, passed Thursday, January 07, 2016. Fredrick was born April 13, 1932.

Mr. Baker was a U.S. Army veteran, who fought in the Vietnam War and ranked E-4 from 1958-1961. He also was a retired railroad worker.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mattie Lee Baker.

To mourn his loss, Mr. Baker leaves four children, Eric Baker (Brenda), Jacksonville, NC; Mark Baker, Hamilton, OH; Mary King (Charlie), Macon, GA; and Melissa Baker, Raleigh, NC.

He also leaves seven grandchildren, Erica Baker, Justin Baker, Jessica Baker, Tyrena Pickett, Krystal Johnson, Sabrina Baker and James Tyler along with two great-grandchildren, Kayla Baker, and Madison Baker.

Visitation will be on Thursday, January 14,2016 from 6:00 p.m- 8:00 p.m. at Jones Funeral Home, in Kankakee, IL. Funeral services will be on Friday, January 15, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Robert Lee officiating.

Burial will follow at the Guiding Star Memorial Cemetary with Military Rites.
