Frederick C. Tome, Jr.YorkFrederick C. "Fred" Tome, Jr., 71, died Friday, October 13, 2017 at Colonial Manor Nursing Home. He was the husband of Linda E. (Shaffer) Tome to whom he was married to for 44 years on May 5, 2017.Funeral services will be 11 a.m.Tuesday, October 17, 2017 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 6 York Street, Codorus, with the Rev. Sean Titus officiating. Burial will follow in the Jefferson Cemetery. A viewing will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church. The Geiple Funeral Home, Inc. 53 Main Street, Glen Rock is in charge of the arrangements.Mr. Tome was born on March 16, 1946 in York, a son of the late Frederick C. Tome, Sr. and Esther N. (Neff) Tome.He retired from JCI/York International, where he was a Product Marketing Engineer for over 44 years. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, a former member of the Glen Rock Carolers, and had played the trombone in the Brodbecks Band. Besides his wife Linda, he leaves behind two sons, James F. Tome and his wife, Clara of Berkeley Heights, NJ, and Mark A. Tome and his wife, Jamie of Spring Grove; a daughter, Susan B. Long and her husband, Mark of Keyser, WVa.; and five grandchildren, Theo, Charlotte, Matthew, Marin, and Cooper.
