Frederick S. "Fritz" Rickrode, age 75, of North East, died on Saturday, October 14, 2017, at UPMC Hamot. He was born on May 11, 1942, in Erie, Pa., to the late Frederick and Marie Schilberz Rickrode. After graduating from North East High School, Fritz served in the United States Army, stationed at Fort Hood, Texas, where he met his wife, whom he married on October 2, 1965. Fritz was a self-employed business man and was a member of American Legion Post 105. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Rickrode. Fritz is survived by his wife, Carolyn "Toni" Correa Rickrode; daughter, Christina Waldinger (David) of McKean; son, Mark Rickrode (Renee) of Virginia Beach, Va.; beloved grandson, Colin Rickrode; step-granddaughters, Lauren Waldinger and Mallory Rickloff; sister, Mary Ann Shipe of Casa Grande, Ariz.; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and lifelong friends. Friends may call at the William D. Elkin Funeral Home, 65 South Lake St., North East, on Thursday from 2:00 to 4:00 and from 6:00 until the time of a remembrance service at 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
