Frederick Smyrthe, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully in his sleep on July 20, 2025, in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, United States. He was born on September 9, 1958, to Barry and Susanne Smyrthe.

Fred, as he was known to his friends and family, married the love of his life, Michele Smyrthe, in 1998. He had one son and 3 step children: Jonathan Smyrthe, stepson Dustin, and stepdaughters Kristen and Stephanie. He was also the proud grandfather of two grandchildren.

He attended Kensington High School and graduated in 1976 before furthering his education at Philadelphia Community College, where he graduated in 1981.

Fred worked diligently at the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 375, where he was respected by colleagues and industry peers alike.

Aside from his work, Fred had a passion for playing the guitar, golfing, and was a die-hard Philadelphia sports fan.

Unfortunately, Fred passed away from heart disease, leaving behind a legacy of love and devotion to his family and friends. He will be remembered for his kind heart, infectious laughter, and unwavering loyalty.
