Hintzke, Francis P.Francis P. Hintzke, age 97, passed away on Thursday, July 20, 2017, at Wisconsin Veterans Home, King. He was born on April 7, 1920 in New London son of the late Theodore and Anastasia (Weshneski) Hintzke. On December 10, 1955, Francis was united in marriage to Irmgard (Irma) Dein in Weinheim, Germany. He served his country faithfully for 21 years in both WWII and Korean War receiving a Purple Heart; and was honored to go on an Old Glory Honor Flight along with his son Ted. He worked at Hillshire for 21 years. Francis enjoyed Cheetos and caffeine free diet Pepsi while playing 10 Point Smear with his family. He was an avid deer hunter and gardener. He was known by hunters as a hot gun bluing expert. Francis travelled to Germany many times to visit relatives and friends. He was a member of AA for 51 years. Francis and his twin brother John ushered at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church for over 50 years. He is survived by his son Rolf, New London; grandchildren: Rolf Jr. (Autumn) Hintzke; Rachel Suprise (special friend, Kent Breiting); Ian (Tracy) Hintzke; Adam Hintzke; Paul (Tanya) Hintzke and Katie (Chris) Smith and his twin brother John, New London. He is further survived by numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, Horst's family in Germany and friends.He was preceded in death by his wife Irma; sisters, Marcella, Evelyn, Mary; sons: Horst, Theodore, and John, and a sister in-law Elaine.Funeral Mass for Francis will be held on Wednesday, July 26, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church, New London with Fr. John Kleinschmidt officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 12 Noon until the time of service. The family would like to thank Heartland Hospice and the staff at McArthur Hall at Wisconsin Veterans Home for all the care and concern they have shown to Francis.
