Francis F. FittlerMANSFIELD: Francis F. Fittler, 89, of Mansfield, passed away on Friday, August 11, 2017, at his residence.Francis was born on October 14, 1927, in Wooster, to Harold W. and Hilda M. (Wyrick) Fittler. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He retired from Ohio Brass after 30 plus years of employment. Francis was an avid bowler for decades. He was also an avid sports fan, and especially like the Cleveland Indians, Ohio State football, and the Cavaliers. He loved to feed the birds and other animal life in his back yard, and also enjoyed listening to old hymns on Saturday nights and Sunday mornings. He is survived by his daughter, Marqueitta Rine of Mansfield; two grandchildren, Chrystal (Dennis) Farris and Michael (Laurie) Rine; two step-children, Allen (Sharon) Easter, and Penny (Clyde) Ball; three step-grandchildren, Lisa Crane, Tim (Annette) Easter, and Troy (Stephanie) Easter; six great-grandchildren; Austin and Addison Farris and Cody, Brett, Elizabeth and Megan Rine; and eleven step-great-grandchildren.Francis was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Junie M. (Blair) Fittler; step-grandson, Lee Ball; three siblings, Flora Brooker, Danny Fittler, and Gail Long; and step-siblings.Calling hours will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, August 14, 2017 at Werner-Gompf Funeral Services, ltd., 1106 Park Avenue East, Mansfield, OH. Calling hours will also be held from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday August 15, 2017 at the funeral home. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Ron Smalls officiating.
