Frances Myron MayFebruary 7, 1933 - October 5, 2017

Frances Myron May lived in Bakersfield, CA and was 84 years old when she passed away on October 5, 2017. She was born on February 7, 1933 in Elmore City, Oklahoma to Nettie and Forest Witcher and was the oldest daughter of ten children. Her beloved husband of 56 years William C. May preceded her in death. She is survived by her son Alvin May Sr., and two daughters Reva Pirtle and Cheryl Whipple. Frances was proud of her five granddaughters, three grandsons, ten great-granddaughters and eight great-grandsons.

During her lifetime she served her community for years as a Girl Scout Troop Leader and was an active member of the serving as commander for two years. Her family enjoyed the numerous crafts she made as Christmas gifts including pottery, candles, knitted house shoes, leather wallets and belts. Frances loved cake decorating and made beautiful wedding cakes for numerous family members. Spending time with her family on beach trips, campouts and fishing trips where some of her happiest memories. She worshipped the lord studying his word faithfully and now she has been called home to be with our lord in heaven. Frances was a devoted loving wife, mother, and grandmother to her family and she will be in our hearts forever.

Her viewing will be October 20th from 5-9pm at Hillcrest Memorial Park & Mortuary. Services at Hillcrest will be held October 21st at 10am followed by a graveside service.
