KINSTON - Frances Jean Wood, 71, of Kinston, passed away on Saturday, August 10, 2013, at Magnolia Cottage Care in Dover. Mrs. Wood was born on January 23, 1942, to the late Bill and Mary Settle of Nashville. She was a loving wife and a wonderful mother and grandmother. She was best known for her creative talents and especially enjoyed painting, cake decorating, and cross stitch. She spent her retirement years traveling across the country and spending time with family and friends. Survivors include her loving and devoted husband of 51 years, William "Boyd" Wood; daughters Karen Garner and husband Jeff, of Goldsboro and Joy Jarman and husband Neil, of Clayton; grandchildren Paige Winders, William Garner, Joshua Jarman, Caleb Jarman and David Jarman; as well as many other special family and friends. Memorial services will be held Tuesday, August 13, 2013, beginning at 5 p.m. with visitation directly following from 6-7 p.m. at Howard-Carter Funeral Home in Kinston.
