Frances Finley

Frances Finley, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 7, 2025, at the age of 69.

Born on September 7, 1955, in Dallas, Texas, to parents Willie Frederick and Eunice Frederick Frances grew up with a deep love for her hometown. She later met the love of her life, Curtis Finley, and together they relocated to the West Side of Chicago, where they built a beautiful life and family.

Frances was the proud mother of seven children: Damon Finley, Shayla Finley, Lisa Finley, Marquise Finley, Xavier Finley, Zavien Finley, and Nicole Finley. She was also a cherished grandmother to 13 grandchildren and a great-grandmother to 2 great-grandchildren. Her family was her greatest joy, and her love for them knew no bounds.

Known for her green thumb, Frances found peace and happiness in gardening, and she never missed a chance to cheer on her favorite team, the Dallas Cowboys. She carried herself with grace, strength, and a radiant spirit, often reminding those around her, “If you can see me, then you’re seeing a star.”

Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

A celebration of Frances’s life will be held on Saturday, August 17, 2025, at Golden Gate Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m.
