Frances E. HammondPEORIA – Frances E. Hammond, 97, of Peoria passed away at 3:40 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2016, at her home surrounded by family.Frances was born on June 15, 1919, in Peoria to Eli and Ada (Charles) Moore. She married Gilbert "Doc" Hammond on June 15, 1947, in Peoria; he survives.Frances is also survived by her daughters, Bonnie (Steven) Wilson of Brookings, Ore., and Cindy (Jon Thomas) Reliford of Peoria; six grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; three nephews; and a sister-in-law, Helen Healy of Peoria. She is preceded in death by her parents, a brother and a sister.Frances was a retired grade school teacher from District 150, where she taught at Woodrow Wilson and Charter Oak schools. She was a member of ALPHA DELTA KAPPA and DELTA BETA PHI sororities; the National, Illinois and Peoria Retired Teacher Association; Madison Ladies Golf League; and Timberlake Country Club. A funeral service will be held at 12 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2016, at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Peoria, with Rev. Denise Clark-Jones officiating. A visitation will be held two hours prior to the service at the church on Tuesday, Nov. 1.
