Frances Smith was born on November 24th, 1943, in Boone, IA to Louie and Bernice Schierholz (Natlich), and peacefully passed away on November 8th, 2024, at the Kavanagh House in Des Moines, Iowa at the age of 80. 

Frances was married to William F Hook Sr and James L Smith Sr. 

Frances was a loving mother of 10 children, Linda Dake, Frances Williams (Ron), Karen Brooks (Deb), Carol Cleghorn (Randy), Nora Hook, William Hook Jr (Jean), Missi Bishop (Joe), Jamie Crees (Steven), James Smith Jr (Jessica) and Jenny Smith (Alex) and grandmother of 36 grandchildren, 64 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren.

Frances was a very independent woman who never wanted to ask for help! She loved doing everything her own way. 

Frances is preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, her brothers Paul and Bill, her sisters, Linda and Jane, her son in law, Randy, her daughter in law, Deb and grandson Bobby. She is survived by her siblings Bobby and Harriet, 10 children and 103 grandchildren and her dog, Diesel.
