Feliberto Casias, 97, a resident of Rainsville passed away on Thursday, March 14, 2013 at his home.He was born on April 8, 1915 to Feliciano Casias and Sofia Padilla-Casias. He married Maria Escolastica Martinez on Feb. 21, 1949.He was an Army Veteran of World War II having served in Cairo, Egypt from 1942 to 1945.He was preceded in death by his father, Feliciano Casias; mother, Sofia Casias-Padilla; wife, Escolastica Casias-Martinez; brothers, Julio Casias, Francisco Casias and Teodocio Casias; sisters, Virginia Cruz, Martha Martinez, Desideria Martinez and Carolina Casias; and daughter-in-law, Viola Casias.He is survived by daughters, Frances Casias of Rainsville, Mary Romero and husband, Rudy, of Monte Aplanado; sons:, Joe E. Martinez and wife, Maria, of Las Vegas, Nev.; Feliverto A. Casias and wife, Cindy, of Rainsville, Anthony Casias and wife, Veronica, of Ocate; brother-in-law: Octaviano Martinez and wife, Joy, of Springer; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; numerous nieces and nephews.Rosary services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Gertrudes Church in Mora. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Gertrudes Church with Father James Sanchez as celebrant. Burial of cremains will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Rainsville.
