Evelyn L GregoryVentura, CAEvelyn L. Gregory, 92, of Ventura, Ca. passed away on November 10, 2016 at her home. Evelyn was born on November 5, 1924 in Springfield, MA. She was the daughter of Ben and Alice Barsom and resided in Springfield until moving to Ventura, California in 1976. Evelyn was originally married to Thomas E. LaMasney, who passed away on September 8, 1967. Evelyn was a concert violinist at age 8 and played at various venues. During WWII she was employed by the Springfield Armory. She was active in real estate, banking and later employed by the County of Ventura as a social worker. She is predeceased by her sister Rachel Gregory of Santa Barbara, Ca. and brother Benjamin Barsom of Springfield. She is survived by her husband of 21 years, George Gregory, sister Ruth Thorpe of Springfield, Ma., daughter Brenda L Christianson, son Thomas E. LaMasney, and two grandchildren, James and Sara Christianson. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend she will be most dearly missed. Burial will be scheduled at Hillcrest Park Cemetery in Springfield, Ma.
