Eva WinstonYorkEva (Winkler-Raphael) Winston, 91, died Sunday, February 28, 2016, at her home. She was the wife of the late Stephen I. Winston.Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 1, 2016, at Temple Beth Israel, 2090 Hollywood Drive, York. Officiating at the service will be Rabbi Jeffrey Astrachan. Burial will be in South Hill Hebrew Cemetery. The Geiple Funeral Home, Inc., 53 Main St., Glen Rock, is in charge of the arrangements.Mrs. Winston was born on April 9, 1924, in Vienna, Austria, a daughter of the late Oscar and Stephanie (Blum) Winker-Raphael.Eva was a member of Temple Beth Israel, where she was a member of the Sisterhood of the Temple. She was a member of the York Jewish Community Center and the Tuesday Club. She was an active volunteer with several organizations, including the York Rescue Mission and Jewish Family Services. She also served as a Nurse in the British Army for 5½ years during and following WWII and then worked as a volunteer in Nursing in the Philadelphia area for several years. She is survived by a daughter, Stephanie M. Rudley and her husband, Jack of York; two grandsons, Joshua Rudley and David Rudley.
