Eva M. Escamilla 1941-2017 It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our faithful, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend, Eva M. Escamilla, age 75, of Anthony, NM on Tuesday, January 24, 2017. Eva was born on August 26, 1941 in El Paso, TX to Candelario and Maria Moreno. Eva and her husband; Leonardo Escamilla shared their lives for 56 wedded years at their residence in Anthony and dedicated their lives to raising their 6 children in a humble home. Together they were owner-operators of an agricultural trucking business and later in their years; worked for McDonald's prior to retiring. Those left to mourn her passing include her devoted husband Leonardo Escamilla; 4 daughters, Thelma Escamilla, Melissa C. Lopez, Minerva R. Gomez (Michael) all of Anthony and Cynthia Y. Diaz (Arnold) of Las Cruces; 2 sons, Leonardo Escamilla Jr. (Emma) of Mesquite and Joseph P. Escamilla (Sandra) of El Paso. Other survivors include 9 grandchildren; Clarisa Escamilla, Amber Escamilla, Sarah Lopez, Heather Escamilla, Desiree Escamilla, Leonardo Escamilla III, Teddy Escamilla, Jose Rodriguez, and Daniela Rodriguez and several grand-fur babies. Eva is preceded in death by her parents Candelario and Maria Moreno; her sisters Cruz Avalos, Albina Armendariz; and her brother Felipe Moreno. Visitation will be Friday, January 27, 2017 at St. Anthony Catholic Church from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm with Vigil Service at 6:00 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, January 28, 2017 at St. Anthony Catholic Church at 9:45 am Rite of committal will be in Memorial Pines Cemetery. Serving as casket bearers will be Leonardo Escamilla Jr., Leonardo Escamilla III, Joseph P. Escamilla, Michael Gomez, Arnold Diaz, Pete Gomez Jr., Jose Rodriguez, and Alfredo Zamora. In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations to be made to the Mesilla Valley Hospice in memory of Eva Escamilla; 299 E. Montana Ave, Las Cruces, NM 88005.
