On October 26, 2025, the world lost a beloved member of the Carrollton community. Ethel Smith, born on May 3, 1953, lived a life full of love, laughter, and joy.

After graduating from Carrollton High School in 1971, Ethel went on to marry the love of her life, Jerry Chism, in 1985. Together, they raised two wonderful children, Willie and Jeffrey, who brought endless happiness into their lives.

Ethel had a passion for sewing and could often be found creating beautiful pieces in her spare time. Her creativity and talent were admired by all who knew her.

She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, and her family meant the world to her. Ethel's legacy will live on through her children and grandchildren, who will always cherish the memories they shared with her.

Though Ethel may no longer be with us, her spirit will continue to bring warmth and light to those who were lucky enough to have known her.
