God, the Creator and Maker of all things, called His servant Estelle Cooper home to eternal rest on Good Friday - April 3rd at 12:35pm in Savoy, Illinois surrounded by her beloved family.
Estelle Cooper was born July 6, 1948, in Steele, Missouri, to the union of Jameson and Aline Saxton Cooper. At an early age, she gave her life to Christ and carried her faith with her throughout her life, experiencing miracle after miracle, especially her last seven months. She was a member of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church.
Estelle worked faithfully as a police dispatcher. She enjoyed cooking, playing cards, and spending meaningful time with her family. Her home was always filled with warmth, laughter, and love. Though her body may have grown fragile over time, her spirit remained mighty and resilient.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories are her children: Kevin Cooper, Keith Cooper, Kandra Cooper, and Jimmie Roby, Jr.; nieces Kelcey Cooper, Jasmine Cooper, and Gabrielle Shantiquia Cooper; nephews Tyrone Cooper and John Brumfield; goddaughters Teon Johnson and Tamika Williams; host of grandkids and great grandkids; one sister Annie Ruth Cooper, one uncle Ben Saxton, one aunt Johnnie Saxton; and two devoted best friends Phyllis Whiting and Ann Margaret Cooper Allen—along with many other relatives and dear friends who will miss her deeply.
Estelle was preceded in death by her parents Jameson and Aline Cooper; her companion Jimmie Roby, Sr.; her sisters Gladys Cooper, Myrtle Cooper, Savannah Cooper, and Rose Mary Brumfield; her brothers Jimmie Cooper, Henry Cooper, Jimmie Cooper, Odie Cooper, Louis Cooper, Elde Cooper, and Robert Cooper; and a special nephew Torrence Cooper.
From early in life, Estelle faced sickness and physical challenges that shaped her journey. Yet through every trial, her faith and trust in God remained strong. She was an inspiration who didn’t let handicaps stop her from living a loving, adventurous, and full life. She was always ready to get going somewhere or doing something.
We would like to send a special thanks to Carle Hospice team who worked compassionately alongside her family caregivers: daughter Kandra and devoted grandson Eddie ‘Tank’ Anderson.
Though her earthly journey was not always easy, Estelle is now at peace and free from pain, resting safely in the arms of the Lord.
“Well done, good and faithful servant… Enter into the joy of your Lord.”
