Eric "Rick" (Pops, Papa) passed away on Tuesday, December 13, 2016. He was born on May 4, 1959 to Eric and Sandra Hearn. His father, Eric White Hearn, Sr, precedes him in death. Eric selflessly volunteered his time for Troop 94 BSA and Awana youth groups. Eric enjoyed carpentry, a good pipe, reading and most importantly spending time with his family. Eric is survived by his wife, Karen, of 33 years; his daughter, Rebecca Carter (Stephen); his sons, Benjamin Eric (Brandy), Daniel Christopher, Jesse David (Sarah), Timothy Peter (Megan), and Matthew Terrell; his mother, Sandra Hearn; his siblings, Susan Stigall (Phil) and Christopher Hearn; his uncle, Walter Hearn (Diane); and three grandchildren. Eric's family will receive friends from 6:30 to 7:30 pm at Grace Bible Church in Charlotte, NC on 12/18/2016. A memorial service will be held at Grace Life Church in Pineville, NC on 12/19/2016 at 10:30 am. Memorials may be made to Grace Bible Deacon Fund and The Pregnancy Resource Center of Charlotte.
