SYRACUSE — Eric Zane Smith, 31, of Syracuse, passed away on September 10, 2015, at 11:05 a.m. at home. He was born on January 31, 1984, in Windber, Pennsylvania, to Wes and Lois Bowser. Eric is survived by his parents; brother, Chad (Trina) Smith of New Paris; father, Mark Pensyl; two nephews, Colton Hite and Callaghan Smith; one niece, Kalina Smith; one great-nephew, Cayden Hite; and a very special friend, Fred Pilkington. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Warren and Naomi Smith, Carl and Frances Pensyl, and Catherine Ickes. He graduated from Fairfield High School. Eric enjoyed NASCAR and Steelers football. He was a member of the Ligonier Nazarene Church. A time of visitation will be today, Saturday, September 12, 2015, from 2-6 p.m. at Yeager Funeral Home, 1589 Lincolnway South, Ligonier. A memorial service will be Sunday, September 13, 2015, at 2 p.m. at the Ligonier Nazarene Church in Ligonier with Pastor John Lutton officiating. A private cremation committal will take place at Legacy Cremation and Remembrance Center. Memorial contributions may be given to Ribbon of Hope and United Cancer Fund.
