Eric “Fatman, Bubba” Norton, age 55, passed away on September 25, 2025, in Lawrenceville, Georgia. Born on July 1, 1970, in Cleveland, Ohio, Eric brought warmth, laughter, and presence to every room he entered, leaving a lasting impression on all who knew him.
Early Life
Eric was the beloved son of Clementene Norton and Paul B. Barney, and stepson of Ricky Timmons. He grew up surrounded by love, family, and faith, building strong relationships that shaped the caring man he became.
Family
Eric cherished his siblings deeply: sister LaTonya Gilbert and brothers Barry Timmons (Andrea) and Clement Norton (Symirah). His extended family included devoted aunts Nancy Wilson and Ann Sims; uncles James Norton Jr. (Priscilla) and John Barney; and many cousins including Brian Wilson, Keith Norton (Carla), Kenneth Norton (Kim), Jeremy Strange, Akeem Lucas, Diaab Muatabaye, Tavarus Norton, Lozetta Johnson, Karen Johnson, Katrina Johnson, and Deetta Johnson.
He was a proud and loving father to Keosha Banks, Jasmine Shorter, Tavis Freeman, Eriana Middleton (Josh), and Madison Norton. His joy continued as a grandfather to Matthew Banks, MeKenzie Green, McKinnley Banks, Jaaliyah Shorter, Tamariee Shorter, Jay’soiona Shorter, and Kaden Lucas.
Eric also treasured his nieces Jayla Timmons and Maya Norton; nephews Jeremiah and Zane Norton; and shared a deep bond with his fiancée, Sakeithia Arnold.
Legacy
Eric’s life was filled with kindness and care. He was preceded in death by his great-grandmother Arabella Sampson; grandmothers Clementene Baker and Inez Barney; grandfather James Norton Sr.; uncles William “Lucky” Norton and Murad Mutabaye; granddaughter Brook Lynn-Marie Lucas; and cousin Deidre Wilson.
His circle of friendship was wide and enduring, with Gerald Brown, Jason Osborn, Eric Watson, and countless other relatives and friends holding a special place in his life.
Remembrance
Eric will be remembered for his loving and generous spirit, his ability to brighten any moment, and his devotion to family. Though he has departed this world, his memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
