LUKE, EMMA M.LUKE EMMA M. Age 90 of Elmira Heights, NY passed away peacefully on Tuesday April 18, 2017 surrounded by her loving family. She was born on December 12, 1926 in Wellsboro, PA the daughter of the late Thomas and Netty Cole Dransfield. Emma is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law: John Luke & Terry Dixon of Phoenix, AZ and Brian & Nancy Luke of Horseheads, NY. She is also survived by her daughters and son-in-law: Diane Camken of Camillus, NY and Kim & Anthony Krowiak of Endwell, NY. As a single mother , Emma sacrificed her personal desires and selflessly devoted herself to raising her four children all on her own . It was one of her proudest accomplishments . Despite her struggles , she touched all who had the pleasure of experiencing her wry sense of humor and quirky personality. Emma is also survived by six grandchildren whom she loved dearly and who were the joy of her life : Kiel Camken, Brian Luke, Thomas Luke, KDee Luke, Tyler Krowiak, Nicole Krowiak, and her faithful canine companion Chester . In addition to her parents , Emma was also pre-deceased by Diane's long-time companion Steven Adams . Emma worked at Remington Rand, Westinghouse , and A& P. For the last 25 years , she was a Senior Companion Advocate for the Veterans IRA house in Horseheads, NY where she lovingly cared for and brought great joy to the residents. Mrs. Luke was a communicant of St. Charles Borromeo Church in Elmira Heights, NY. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the LYNCH FUNERAL HOME 318 WEST BROAD STREET HORSEHEADS, NY on Saturday May 20, 2017 from 11 AM to 12 Noon. Emma's Funeral Service will be held at the conclusion of calling hours at 12Noon. She will be laid to rest in Woodlawn Cemetery in Elmira, NY.
