Emma Hill, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away on January 20, 2025, in Detroit, Michigan. She was born on January 17, 1952, to Dave and Bernice Hill.
Emma married the love of her life, Congress Hill, in 1979, and together they built a life rooted in love, faith, and family. From this union came three cherished children: Kimberly Hill, Andre Ash, and Anthony Ash. She was also a proud and devoted grandmother to ten grandchildren, each of whom brought her immense joy.
A lifelong Detroit native, Emma attended Northern Senior High School, where she distinguished herself academically, graduating as valedictorian, a testament to her intelligence, discipline, and dedication. She later continued her education at Wayne State University, reflecting her deep passion for learning and personal growth.
Emma carried her love for education into her career with the Board of Education, where she served with pride and purpose. Through her work, she touched countless lives and left a lasting impact on her community before retiring.
