Emma Hahn died on Saturday, February 21, 2009. She was born on March 4, 1916, to Conrad and Anna Bitter in Fresno, Ca. Upon her father's death, she moved with her mother to Portland where she met and married Philip Hahn. Emma was a homemaker, loved to paint, play the organ, work in her garden, and attend church. Her husband, parents, and siblings, preceded her in death. She is survived by her sister-in-law, Daisy Lee Bitter of Homer, Ak.; nephew, Timothy Bitter of Anchorage, Ak.; cousins from the Bitter, Marks, and Ruby families in California, and foster son, Abel Brandtner of Portland, Or. She is buried in the Rose City Cemetery in Portland, Or.
