Ellen Louise Grove (nee: Briggs) died at her home in Rancho Santa Fe on January 9, 2010. She was born on November 23, 1945, in Wilkes-Barre, PA, to the late Tracy and Jessie Briggs. She moved with her family to La Jolla in 1958, graduated from La Jolla High School in 1963, and attended the University of Arizona. Ellie was a flight attendant for American Airlines, a computer programmer for Control Data, and a real estate agent for Chiquita Abbott and Willis M. Allen, with a few other interesting side jobs in between. She is survived by her husband of 29 years, Dr. Lawrence Grove, and her sisters, Jeanette B. Heath and husband Larry of Broad Run, VA and Sarah J. Briggs of Escondido, CA. She also is survived by five nephews: Joshua M. Rowley, Beau T. Heath, Jesse R. Heath, Erik H. Petersen and Gabriel A. Navarro. A private family ceremony will be held in February to remember and celebrate Ellie.
