Ellen Jean Harris, 73, passed away Saturday, October 25, 2017, at Methodist Hospital. She was born June 2, 1944, in Alden, Iowa to Larry and Ina Harris.

Ellen grew up and received her education from Iowa Falls - Alden High School, graduating in the class of 1962. Ellen made her career as a daycare provider and was a longtime resident of Des Moines, IA where she raised her five children: Terry, Mike, Tim, Theresa, and Tracey.
She enjoyed watching sports such as bowling, softball, basketball, football, and golf. She was an avid fan of the Steelers and also loved playing dominoes, Scrabble, and many card games with her grandchildren. Most of all, Ellen loved spending time with her children and, watching her grandchildren's activities.

Ellen will be deeply missed by her children, grandchildren, and two sisters. She was preceded in death by her parents, Larry and Ina Harris; and her brother, Irwin Harris.
