Ellen Danforth, 82, passed on June 24, 2020. She was born in Detroit, Michigan on September 05, 1937. She has 2 sisters and lived with her parents in Detroit until she married in 1955 and moved to Texas. Her husband Emmitt was the head of maintenance for the Dallas school system until his death in 1994. She was a homemaker until her children were grown and then became an apartment complex manager for 23 years until she retired. Her tenants all loved her and affectionately called her "Mom". They lived together in Forney, Texas for over 25 years. Together they raised 2 children James and Charlotte.  

She is survived by her daughter Charlotte and her husband Phillip, 6 grandchildren; Amber, Charles, Mason, Elizabeth, Thomas, and Glenn. and 4 great grandchildren, Caitlyn, Natalie, Alexis, and Sam.

Ellen was an active member of her church, loved to volunteer at the local hospice, and spend time with her family. She will be greatly missed by all that knew her.

She was preceeded in death by her husband, Emmitt, her son James, and her 2 sister, Flora and Janet.

Services will be held at the First Baptist Church of Forney, on Saturday June 26, 2021 at 12 noon. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the American Cancer Society.
