Elladean MCCallister September 24, 1929 - November 18, 2016 Raleigh Elladean (Dee) McCallister died peacefully on Friday, November 18, 2016 in Cary, NC at the age of 87. Dee is survived by her daughter, Jean Williams of Raleigh; her grandchildren and their spouses, Beth and Brian Morgan, Mt Pleasant, SC and Ted and April Williams, Apex, NC; and her great grandchildren, Hannah Morgan, Hill Williams, Noah Morgan, Reese Williams, and Nate Williams. Dee was born on September 24, 1929 in West Virginia to Clarence and Ella Reese. She was married to Leland F. McCallister who predeceased her in 1979. Dee was most proud of her work as a police officer/dispatcher in Havelock, NC from 1970-1974. She was a long term member of Macedonia United Methodist Church. A loving and compassionate person, Dee financially supported a number of charities she felt strongly about, including the Women's Center of Wake County. In recent years she was an avid HGTV fan; her favorite show was the Property Brothers. Last year they sent her a personalized autographed picture that she treasured. A memorial service is scheduled for Wednesday, November 23 at 10:30 am at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home 200 SE Maynard Road, Cary, NC, with a visitation and reception to follow. Brian Morgan, her grandson-in-law, will officiate at the ceremony. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Dee's life. The family would like to thank care givers at Cary Health and Rehab, Cary, NC for their care in her final months of life and the Transitions hospice team for her care in the final days.
