It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ella Johnson, a beloved member of the Baltimore community. Ella was born on August 16, 1925, and peacefully left this world on July 31, 2023. She touched the lives of many with her warm smile, kind heart, and unwavering love for her family and friends.
Ella was born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland, and it remained her cherished hometown throughout her life. She was the daughter of John and Fairellla Mooring, and grew up in a loving household alongside her sisters, Sarah and Mary. From a young age, Ella displayed a thirst for knowledge and an eagerness to help others.
Ella always put her family first. She married the love of her life, William Johnson, in 1948, and they built a beautiful life together. Their bond was unbreakable, and they supported each other's dreams and passions. Ella and William were blessed with five children, Bill, Tiger, Darnell ,Rodney and Valerie whom they raised with love and dedication.
Ella had a passion for education and spent many years as a devoted teacher in the Baltimore school system. She touched the lives of countless students, instilling within them a love for learning and encouraging them to reach for the stars. Ella's dedication to her profession earned her the respect and admiration of her colleagues and students alike.
Outside of her work, Ella enjoyed spending time in nature. She had a green thumb and spent countless hours gardening in her backyard. Her garden was a haven of blooming flowers and thriving plants, a testament to her patient care and unwavering dedication. Ella also loved taking long walks in the park, breathing in the fresh air and appreciating the beauty of the world around her.
Ella was a pillar of strength and support for her family and friends. She was known for her compassionate and nurturing nature, always offering a listening ear and wise advice. Her home was a gathering place for loved ones, where laughter and love flowed freely. Ella's warm and welcoming spirit served as an anchor for those who knew her, providing comfort and solace during both joyous and difficult times.
As she grew older, Ella cherished every moment spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was their biggest cheerleader, attending school events and extracurricular activities, and showering them with unconditional love. She is survived by her beloved husband, William Johnson, her loving children, Bill, Darnell ,Rodney,and Tiger, Sister's, Sarah and Mary, as well as her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Ella's memory will continue to inspire and guide us, reminding us to live deeply, love passionately, and cherish every moment.
