Stachelek, Elizabeth Louise Age 76, of Sun City Az. Passed away, peacefully while her husband was adjusting the pillow for her head, from complications from her long battle with Alzheimer's, on June 28, 2017. Elizabeth was born on February 7, 1941, in Chicago Ill. To Albert Miller and Eleanore Truszczynski. At the age of 12 her mother passed away and she and her sister were raised by her mothers sister and her husband Adelaide and Carl Schmidt. The Schmidt children treated her like a sister and she treated them as brothers and sister. She was preceded in death by her mother Eleanore Miller, her father Albert Miller, the aunt and uncle that raised her Adelaide and Carl Schmidt, her brothers Johnny Joe, Robert and Paul Schmidt, her mother in law Virginia Lewis and her husband's step father Finch Lewis, her sister in law Geraldine Joyce Gibson III ne Stachelek. She is survived by her husband Bernard R. Stachelek, her sister Adelaide Schmidt ne Miller, her nephews Carl and Fred Kuehn, Harry Gibson IV, her niece Helen Kowalski ne Kuehn her grand nieces Haley and Alex Kuehn, her brothers Steven and James Schmidt, her sister Carole Spadaro ne Schmidt, plus many other relatives. Elizabeth and her husband met on a blind date and on their third date he asked her to marry him. Six months later they were wed and their marriage lasted for 49 years. In those 49 years they had only three arguments and each lasted less than 4 hours. Elizabeth was the love of his life and his soul mate. She loved to bowl and play golf until her body would not allow her to continue. She treated everyone with respect and kindness and always had a smile. She lived by the golden rule. She will be missed but will always be in the hearts of her family and friends. Her husband also wishes to express his sincerest thanks to Nick and Joanna Iancu of "EMMA" Assisted Living for providing Alzheimer's care for Elizabeth during the last year of her life. Family visitations will be private. Interment will be a Graveside Service at 10:30 a.m., on Thursday, July 6, 2017, at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 23029 N.
