Elizabeth Anne MillerAGE: 50 • TownsendElizabeth Anne Miller, "Liz", 50, of Townsend, DE, passed away at home on Saturday, October 15, 2016.Liz was born on May 5, 1966 and was a 1984 graduate of Concord High School. She worked as an executive secretary for the Sheraton Hotel from 1985 - 1989. She then worked in various local bars as a skilled and friendly bartender and eventually owned her own bar, "Just Mugs" from 2001-2013. She was named "Businesswoman of the Year" in 2005.Liz was a true people person and was always the life of the party. She had a natural ability to make everyone around her feel comfortable and welcome. She enjoyed gardening and traveling and adored her pet cats; and don't forget about her favorite number, 311.She is survived by her loving husband, John A. Miller; her mother, Ann Slater; her step-daughter, Maura Miller; and her friends, Jake McKinley, Kim Porter, and Victoria Domingo, as well as many others.Liz was preceded in death by her father, David Slater; and her first husband, John Taggart.Family and friends are invited to visit from 5:00 - 7:00pm on Thursday, October 20, 2016 at the Doherty Funeral Home, 3200 Limestone Road, Wilmington, DE 19808.
