Elizabeth Perry of Canoncito, New Mexico, passed away peacefully at the age of 70 surrounded by family. Elizabeth had suffered an ischemic stroke on February 10th, 2025. Her sister, Katherine Tolth and nephew, Jonathan became her primary caregivers. Elizabeth battled for recovery for 10 months before she succumbed to her illness in the early morning hours of October 7th, 2025. Elizabeth was born on July 9, 1955, to her loving parents, Marcus Perry of Nacogdoches, Texas and June Perry of Wagner, South Dakota in Henderson, Kentucky. Her father's job in the oil drilling industry took the family across the country until the family settled down in her father's hometown of Houston, Texas in the early 70's. It was there the family called home.

Elizabeth attended Alameda Elementary and Dick Dowling Junior High School in Houston, Texas, where she excelled in her studies and made lifelong friends. After graduating, she helped her parents care for her elderly paternal grandparents, the late Minnie Mae and Antonio Gonzalez. Elizabeth relocated to Wagner, South Dakota years later to help care for her elderly maternal grandparents, the late Sampson and Catherine (St. Pierre) Ree who were enrolled members of the Ihanktowan Oyate (Yankton Sioux Tribe).After their demise, Elizabeth went on to work at the Yankton Sioux Tribe Fort Randall Casino and Hotel, where she dedicated many years of service before retiring. Upon her retirement from the casino, Elizabeth became the primary caregiver for her elderly parents before their demise in 1995 and 2011.

Elizabeth had a passion for writing daily prayers, reading, cooking, and baking. She was known for her delicious recipes and always made sure to share her creations with family and friends. Despite not having any children of her own, Elizabeth was a beloved aunt and friend to many. Elizabeth adopted her niece, Cheyenne Marie Perry after the passing of her brother, Kenneth, and raised her as her own child. They shared a deep mother/daughter bond that will forever be connected. Elizabeth dedicated her life to caring for those she loved and those who loved her.

Elizabeth will be remembered for her kind heart, infectious laughter, and unwavering love for those around her. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Elizabeth leaves behind to mourn her passing her beloved brothers, Robert Perry and wife of Manhattan Beach,California, Gale Perry and wife of Flandreau, South Dakota, Mark Perry and wife of Pearland, Texas, David Perry and wife of Flandreau, South Dakota, Tracy Perry of Fargo, North Dakota, sister Katherine Tolth and husband Nathaniel of Canoncito, New Mexico, adopted daughter, Cheyenne Marie Perry of Tucson Arizona, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is proceeded in death by her parents, Marcus and June Perry, paternal grandparents, Antonio and Minnie Mae Gonzalez, maternal grandparents, Sampson and Catherine Ree, sister, Kimberly Ann Decoteau, brothers, Marcus Keith Perry and Kenneth Wayne Perry, May she rest in peace.

Private family services will be held on Saturday, October 18th at Daniel's Funeral Home, 3113 Carlisle Blvd NE, Albuquerque, New Mexico at 1pm.
