We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Elisiote Matauinu Tuitupou-Toilolo on November 8, 2025, in Inglewood, California, United States. Elisiote was born on August 17, 1930, to Fatu Pikiaki and Tanupuo Toilolo.
Elisiote was a beloved spouse to Sipiaki Tuitupou who died in 2009, and a devoted mother to their 10 children: Elosa Tuitupou-Toilolo, Magau Tuitupou-Toilolo, Piliaki Pili Tuitupou-Toilolo, Manu Selilia Tuitupou-Toilolo, Tai Tuitupou-Toilolo, Laki Tasimuli Tuitupou-Toilolo, Manifu Tuitupou-Toilolo, Lepipaau Tuitupou-Toilolo, Paiau Pa’u Tuitupou-Toilolo, and Elisiote Tuitupou-Toilolo Si’i. Elisiote is was a beloved support system to her 16 grandchildren, 5 great- grandchildren, and her 7 great- great- grandchildren.
Elisiote attended High Fenuia Samoa School for Girls and graduated in 1945. She then continued her education at Tatalo Tuifa College, graduating in 1956. Elisiote graduated as the Miss Samoa and Faikaga Chief of her College, making her whole family proud. Elisiote worked at Washing Work Center and retired in 2024, while also dedicating her time to the San Diego Health Society organization.
Elisiote was honored with 25 awards throughout her career and was known for her involvement in the church as the First Lady. She will be remembered for her kindness, generosity, and unwavering faith.
Elisiote Matauinu Tuitupou-Toilolo leaves behind a legacy of love and strength.She is preceded in death by her parents, sibling, and many other of her extended family. May she rest in peace.
