Elease Smith, beloved daughter of Horace B Smith and Ella Barton, was born on May 31, 1934 in Dayton, Ohio. She peacefully passed away on January 3, 2026 in her hometown.

After a fulfilling career in Development and Research at the University of Dayton, Elease retired in 1997. She was dedicated to her work and made many lasting contributions to her field.

Elease lived a full and vibrant life in Dayton, where she was well-loved by her friends and colleagues. Although she had no children of her own, she was a cherished aunt to many nieces and nephews.

She will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her memory will live on in the hearts of those she touched.
