Eleanor Oates Karres, 93, of Cornelius, formerly Rock Hill, died June 21, 2016. She was born on August 8, 1922 in York County to the late Ralph and Precia Oats. She was a long time member of First ARP Church and later joined Tirzah ARP Church.She was preceded in death by her husband Gus. Survivors include her sons, Steven Parks of Sandy Creek, NC and Dean Karres of Champagne, IL; daughters, Beth Stokes and husband Bill of Lancaster, SC and Tina Karres of Cornelius, NC; 5 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Wednesday, June 22 at James Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 Thursday, June 23 at Tirzah ARP Church with Rev. Andy Putnam officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
