Elbert Donald "Al" Stokes, 75, passed away on July 21, 2024, at home in Frankfort, KY surrounded by loved ones.
Born on September 16, 1948 in Owensboro, Ky, Al was a U.S. Air Force veteran, loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, public servant, philanthropist, and man of God.
Al was preceded in death by parents Elbert Stokes Sr. and Janine "Jenny" Stokes.
He leaves behind his faithful wife of 52 years Patricia M. Kinsley Stokes, children John W. Stokes, Amanda Stokes Campbell, grandchildren Nicole Campbell Rhodes, Nathan Campbell, Ryan Stokes, Nicholas Stokes, Jaime Stokes Klein, great grandchildren Zoe Jane Stokes, Tristan Stokes, Haden Klein, Taryn Klein, Bentley Klein, brothers Richard Stokes, Danny Wayne Stokes, Albert Stokes and sister Diane Stokes Meisner.
Private Internment services will be held at Lexington National Cemetery with family friend Pastor David Smith presiding.
The family would also like to thank Blue Grass Care Hospice for all of their help through the most difficult of times.
