Elaine LongshawJanuary 12, 1932 - August 28, 2013Loving mother, grandmother, aunt, cousin, and friend passed away on Wednesday August 28th, at her Highland Cove home in Salt Lake City, of heart failure. Elaine was born on January 12, 1932 in Duchesne Utah to William Joseph and Norma Brown. Moving to Salt Lake City she attended Emerson and Whittier Elementary, Lincoln Junior High, and South High schools. On December 10, 1949 Elaine married William R. (Bob) Longshaw. They raised six children. In 1968 the family moved to Pocatello Idaho. From 1987 to 2004 Elaine and Bob owned and operated BEL Coins and Collectibles on Center street and Second Ave. They traveled extensively. Elaine is remembered for her excellent homemade chili sauce, canned fruits and vegetables, and apricot jam. She enjoyed gardening and turning the fruits of her labors into edibles for her family and friends.Elaine is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day-Saints. She held positions in Primary, Relief Society, and Single Sisters. Elaine is is preceded in death by her parents, aunts, uncles, husband, brother Bob Brown, and son Arthur Kay. She is survived by one daughter Susan Burke, and four son's, Ken(Debbi), Joe(Laura), Pat(Kaileen), Tony(Rebecca), grandchildren Mercedes, Mathew, John, Jenifer, Jessica, Cynthya, Robert and Alex, sisters-in-law Mary and Margie, ten great-grandchildren, 14 nieces and nephews, and cousins.Services will be held at 11am Tuesday 9/3/13 at the Winder 5th LDS Ward, 1361 East 40th South Salt Lake City Utah. Viewing will be one hour prior to services. Internment will be at 3:30pm at Norton Cemetary in McCammon Idaho.
