  • A life well lived

    We mourn the loss of Edwin George Mendelson, born on February 7, 1890, in Glenwood, Idaho. He was the beloved son of Arthur and Sarah Mendelson. He was the loving husband of Lillian (Doyle) Mendelson, to whom he was married on July 6th, 1909. Edwin was a dedicated father to his four children: Thomas (spouse Evelyn), Daniel (spouse Harriet), Joseph (17), and Deirdre (12). He also leaves behind one grandchild, Augustine.

    Edwin attended Bonners Ferry Municipal School, graduating in 1908, before continuing his studies for English and Poetry at Boise State University and graduating in 1912. He worked as the Mayor of Glenwood and was an accomplished author. He also served on the School Board of District 131.

    Edwin proudly served in the US Army as a Lieutenant in the 91st Division unit for 2 years during The Great War. In his free time, he enjoyed writing, playing the piano and guitar, fishing, and trapping.

    Tragically, Edwin Mendelson was murdered in his own home on October 23, 1932. His loss is deeply felt by his family, friends, and community.

    His funeral will be held on October 30th, 1932, at St. Michael’s Church at 10:30 A.M. A luncheon will be proceed the service and burial in the basement.
