Edward Villa GonzalesMay 12, 1933 - November 9, 2016 Edward Villa Gonzales, a lifetime resident of Stockton, CA passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on November 9, 2016 at the age of 83.He was born on May 12, 1933 in Stockton, CA to the late Jose and Maria Gonzales. He enlisted into the Navy where he served during the Korean War. Edward worked at San Joaquin Delta College for many years and was a longtime member of the Karl Ross Post. Edward is survived by his son Edward Joseph Gonzales (Mary Jane), siblings Salvador Gonzales (Carmen), Hortensia Lucas, and companion for over 30 years Bartie Ramos all of Stockton, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his wife Dolores and 14 siblings all of Stockton.He loved spending time with his family. He enjoyed listening to jazz music, playing pool and darts and was a devoted fan of the San Francisco Giants. His family will always remember Edward as a patient man that had a kind heart, who was always devoted to his Catholic faith he will leave behind many wonderful memories.DeYoung Memorial Chapel is honored to serve the Gonzales family. Visitation will be held at DeYoung Memorial Chapel, 601 N. California St. on Wednesday, November 16, 2016 from 2-6pm followed by a Rosary at 6pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, November 17, 2016 at 10 am at St. Luke's Catholic Church, 3847 N. Sutter St. Committal to follow at San Joaquin Catholic Cemetery.
