Matula, Edward Frank.Edward F. Matula, beloved husband of Joan (Burnell) Matula, age 86 passed away on Thursday, November 3, 2016 at Norwalk Hospital after a brief illness. Eddie was born on May 18, 1930 in Greenwich, son of the late Joseph And Emilia (Koshina) Matula. Eddie was a 1947 graduate of Greenwich High School and worked as a banker with Union Trust for over 35 years finishing his career as Vice President in 1985; as well as a veteran of the Korean War serving with the United States Army. In addition to his wife, Joan, Eddie is survived by a daughter, Sandra Jay and her husband, John of Shelton, two grandchildren, Ashley and Peter, a sister Amelia (Millie) Busch, sister in law Anne Matula and several nieces and nephews. Eddie was predeceased by two sisters, Helen Buckley and Olga Gregory and two brothers, Joseph and George. A mass of Christian burial will take place on Tuesday, November 8th, 2016 at 10 am at St. Matthew Church, 216 Scribner Avenue, Norwalk with a burial to follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, 35 Parsonage Road, Greenwich.
