Edward Lee Tompkins, also known as Man Man, passed away on November 17, 2023, in Jacksonville, FL, at the age of 23. He was born on November 7, 2000, in Jacksonville, FL. 

Edward had a passion for working on vehicles and spent countless hours in the garage. He would eagerly show his latest modifications to his truck to his father, always seeking his approval. Despite his love for cars, Edward had a successful career as a barber. What many people may not know is that he would offer haircuts to the homeless and less privileged, asking for nothing in return but a smile. He was a caring and generous person who believed in doing his part to help others. Edward's kind-hearted nature was matched by his willingness to step up and defend others. Growing up, he would often find himself in scuffles with neighborhood bullies, resulting in his nickname, Man Man.

Edward is survived by his father, David Tompkins, his sister, Ebonie Tompkins, and his mother, Mary Carter.

A funeral service for Edward Man Man Tompkins will be held on Saturday, December 9, 2023 at 11:00 AM at the New Dimensions Church of God By Faith. Visitation will take place on Friday,December 8 2023, at the mortuary from 4-7 PM. Interment will follow at Restlawn Cemeteries. The funeral arrangements are being handled by Holmes-Glover-Solomon Funeral Director, Inc., located at 4334 Brentwood Avenue in Jacksonville, FL.

Edward's passing leaves behind a void in the hearts of all who knew him. His kindness, generosity, and willingness to help others will be deeply missed. May he rest in peace.
